The linux-audio-announce list is being monitored by the following news publications:
The Linux Audio Announce list is intended as a low-traffic informational list. Possible messages include:
and similar things.
Follow-ups should be rare (probably only for corrections or updates) - if you require public feedback or discussion, please cc: the linux-audio-user list or other appropriate forums.
The web interface for the LAA list is at: http://lists.linuxaudio.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-audio-announce/
This should be the method of choice for most users. It is the fastest and easiest way to control your subscription. Making changes requires a personal password, which you must choose when you subscribe.
To reduce unneccessary mail traffic, this list does not send out monthly password reminders. If you have forgotten your password, you can have it mailed back to you at any time from the web interface.
Alternatively, you can use an email interface. If you are familiar with the Majordomo mailing list handler, you will notice that Mailman uses almost the same command set. The address of the email interface is linux-audio-announce-request@lists.linuxaudio.org.
Commands can either be sent in the subject or the body of the message. Be sure to have your .signature separated from the text by a line starting with a dash ("-"). Otherwise it will be misinterpreted as Mailman commands and you will receive error messages. Upon completion, the results will be mailed back to you.
Here are some important commands:
By default, the sender's address will be affected, unless you add an email address after the command. Since Mailman has per-list request addresses, you do not need to specify a list name.
In case of problems, you can reach the list owner at linux-audio-announce-owner@lists.linuxaudio.org.
The list address is linux-audio-announce@lists.linuxaudio.org.
Do not send Mailman commands to this address!
If your announcement is only of local interest, as may be the case with most meetings, please begin your subject line with [LOCAL], followed by the country and region or city to which it applies.
Please allow at least one day for the message to be approved and distributed via the list. If the message is rejected, you will receive a message stating why.
By default, replies go to the sender only.
